August 2025

August 21  — Artist Invitational Opening

 CAP Omaha’s traditional season opener, a professionally curated show encompassing numerous media and styles. Come to see over one hundred new works by more than four  dozen Midlands artists, nearly all available for purchase: the perfect place to begin or enlarge a personal or institutional collection of the very best art from our region.

September 2025

September 5 — Padres at the Piano Concert Fundraiser

A special concert of beloved piano works, including Mussorgsky’s complete Pictures at an Exhibition, performed by CAP past-president Monsignor James Gilg and Cathedral rector/pastor Father Jeremy Hans. Come to experience great music in a great space on a deluxe Steinway grand! Separately ticketed as a CAP fundraising event, with tickets available through the giftshop or at the door.

September 18 — Omaha Symphony at the Cathedral

Part of the Cathedral’s new ongoing collaboration with the Omaha Symphony, featuring works for Baroque orchestra, the Cathedral Choir, and the incomparable Pasi organ. Come to hear familiar Baroque pieces such as Vivaldi’s Gloria and new favorites with some of Omaha’s most skilled performers. Part of our monthly Art Walk. September 20 — Thomas Kimball Annual Memorial Lecture

Archivist and preservationist Nick Manhart chronicles the remarkable ascent, decline, and ultimate closure of Rev. Robert Schuller’s famous and architecturally significant Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. Come to learn how this glass landmark was transformed into Christ Cathedral for the 1.3 million Catholics of Orange County through the design expertise of Omaha’s own Brother William Woeger.

October 9 — Taking Flight: The Eighth Wonder of the World (documentary premier)

A project of Omaha’s Bel Canto Duo celebrating the captivating Sandhill Crane migration in Nebraska with a blend of acoustic and electronic music. Come to immerse yourself in striking original compositions and visuals with oboist Darci Gamerl and cellist David Downing. Experience this natural spectacle through the duo’s artistic storytelling, connection to place, the unique sound mirroring the vast skies over the prairie and visuals featuring the sheer grandeur of thousands of Sandhill Cranes in migration.

January 4 — Anthony Deon Art Exhibit

One of our most popular artists back for another, all-new exhibit of his compelling works. Come to contemplate these often whimsical, sometimes intriguingly surreal, and always deeply beautiful photo-realistic paintings. Back by popular demand, you are sure to be impressed by the prodigious talent of this young artist!

January 22 Flower Festival, Patron Party

A fabulous time for friends, food, and fine art. Come to support the Festival and enjoy a deluxe evening
of conviviality and the endless creativity of our flower designers. Advance tickets required.

January 24 Flower Festival, Open to public

One of Omaha’s most popular annual traditions, now in its 41st year! Come to be overwhelmed by beauty and flower artistry from the region’s best designers in Omaha’s own grand cathedral. Displays will feature specially commissioned paintings by Anthony Deon. The Sunderland Gallery and our giftshop will be open throughout; full lunch will be available in the Cathedral Cultural Center.

February 14 —  St. Valentine's Day Event

February 22 — Omaha Plein Air Exhibit

A collaboration with Nebraska Plein Air Artists displaying visual works created outdoors, mostly in our own state. Come to experience classical and innovative art in several media depicting landscapes and other natural-world locations. Be inspired by the infinite world of the ‘full air’ as seen through the eyes of highly skilled, specialized practitioners.

March 2026

March 22 — Bach Birthday Celebration

A varied and engaging presentation of some of the rich, moving, and diverse works of the great Baroque composer, with insightful introductory reflections by guest lecturer, Dr. Michael Bauer. Come immerse yourself in the genius of one of history’s most versatile and revered composers. An annual CAP event highlighting master musicians equally at home in the concert hall and in the church.

April 2026

April 12 — Young Artists Art Exhibit

A special exhibition of two-dimensional works by winners of the U.S. House of Representatives’ annual Congressional Art Competition in Nebraska District Two (Omaha area). Come to see the creative excellence in multiple genres in artworks by high-school students from our own city! A continuation of CAP’s major commitment to nurturing and curating the creative work of young people of the Midlands.

April 12 — Young Artists Concert

In cooperation with the Omaha Conservatory of Music, CAP’s annual annual showcase concert by young keyboard, instrumental, and vocal artists. Come to be deeply impressed with the technique, insightful artistry, and joie de vivre of some of the area’s most talented middle- and high-school performers. The musical arts are indeed alive and well in Omaha, and we’re bringing you some of our favorites.

April 25 — The Tamburitzans
Dance, song, instrumental music, and spectacular folk costumes from the many cultures of Eastern Europe performed by the nationally-renowned Tamburitzans of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Come to revel in an enthralling evening of authentic traditional music from the Baltics to the Balkans, all performed with great artistry, energy, and joy by this nearly century-old Pittsburgh troupe! Last appearing in Omaha 50 years ago (1975), this is the Tamburitzan’s only midwest performance of their US national tour.

June 18 - CCCD Art Walk, Brandon Rial Art Opening 

New works by one of Omaha’s most innovative and approachable visual artists and designers. Come to view one of the largest shows of these vibrant, richly-colored paintings in CAP’s fully-professional Sunderland Gallery. A unique experience of art ‘inspired by geometry, stained glass, icons, maps and hope.’
